CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS

The Solid Waste Disposal Authority of the City of Huntsville (SWDA) and its curbside recycling program, Recycling Alliance of North Alabama (RANA), in partnership with the City of Huntsville, City of Madison and Madison County, collectively received $500,000 in grant awards from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) from the department's 2021 Recycling Fund. The ADEM grants will contribute funds to the purchase of the 95 gallon rolling carts for the automated curbside recycling program.

Our team was on the road recently assisting with filming for Middle Tennessee Electric's new project featuring a few of MTE's senior leadership, Chris Jones and Brad Gibson. More to come soon. In the meantime, stay up-to-date on MTE's news.

Metro Arts and Nashville Public Library have partnered to provide community members the unique opportunity to borrow paintings from local artists to display in their homes. The Art Lending Library is available at the Madison and Southeast branches and patrons can reserve artwork now. Learn more about the Art Lending Library.

Due to the recent flooding in Middle Tennessee, Genesco, Inc., Nashville-based footwear company, donated thousands of pairs of shoes and water to the emergency relief effort. Genesco and Journeys also donated a $25,000 gift to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund, organized by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Every contribution counts and recovery will take time so we encourage you to join us in making a donation to help our neighboring counties.

Today, we kicked off our new series, #MBPRonTour at the National Museum of African American Music in celebration of Black Music Month. We were inspired by the roots and culture of the music and the way it has risen to influence music today. This was one of the most interactive museums any of us have visited. Be sure to check it out for yourself!

The Nashville Public Library partnered with the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation for the Tennessee Titans Rookies Read event. Kids heard players read from Coach Mike Vrabel’s “Hog Mollies” children’s book series. Thanks to the Titans rookies for answering questions and having fun with the kids!

HDLA recently finished up some local noteworthy projects including The Pool Club which sits atop the Virgin Hotel in Nashville and was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal. They were also invited by the Tennessee Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects to participate in an Instagram takeover to feature recent work.
